The Salween River

Salween River, a river of southeastern Asia. It begins on the plateau of Tibet and flows generally southward through China and Burma, emptying into the Gulf of Martaban, an arm of the Andaman Sea.

The Songhua River

Songhua Jiang, or Sung-hua Chiang, both (also Sungari River), a river in northeastern China, draining much of Manchuria.

The Sutlej River

Sutlej River, a major river of the Indus system in southern Asia. It is about 850 miles (1,370 km) long.

Syr Darya, a river in Central Asia. Including its chief headstream, the Naryn, which begins in the Tien Shan range of Kyrgyzstan, the Syr Darya is about 1,850 miles (2,980 km) long.

The Tunguska River

Tunguska, the name of two eastern tributaries of the Yenisev River in Russia. They are the Lower Tunguska and the Stony Tunguska.

Ural River, a river in southwestern Russia. It is sometimes considered part of the boundary between Europe and Asia.

Wei River, or Wei He, a river in China. It is about 450 miles (720 km) long. The Wei's source is in the mountains of southern Gansu province.

The Xi River

Xi (also Si and Hsi)River, the principal river of southern China. It is formed by the junction of the Hongshui and Yu rivers, about 80 miles (130 km) west of Wuzhou.

The Yalu River

Yalu River, a river in eastern Asia, forming part of the border between North Korea and China.

The Yamuna River

Yamuna (or Jumna)River, a river of northern India. It is the longest tributary of the Ganges River, having a length of about 860 miles (1,380 km).

Yangtze River, or Chang Jiang, the longest river in China. Although the name Yangtze (or Chang) is usually used for the entire river, it is also known as the Tongtian in its upper course and the Jinsha in its middle course.

The Yenisey River

Yenisey (or Yenisei) River, a principal river of Russia. From its headwaters near the Mongolian border, the Yenisey flows northward nearly 2,100 miles (3,400 km) and empties into the Kara Sea.
