Windward Passage, or Windward Channel, a strait between Cuba and Haiti in the West Indies, linking the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. It is about 50 miles (80 km) wide. The Windward Passage is on the direct shipping route from the east coast of the United States to the Panama Canal.
