Sialkot, Pakistan, a city near the Kashmir border, about 65 miles (105 km) north of Lahore. Sialkot is a trading center and has light manufacturing industries, producing primarily sporting and surgical goods. An ancient city, it was reputedly the capital of the Bactrian Greek ruler Menander in the second century B.C. In the early sixth century A.D. it was the capital of Mihiragula the Hun, who ruled a large part of northwestern India.
