Bataan Peninsula juts into Manila Bay from the southwestern coast of Luzon in the Philippine Islands.Peninsula, a tongue of land projecting from a mainland base into a body of water. The peninsula may be connected to the mainland either by a broad base, as in the state of Florida, or by a narrow isthmus, as in the Malay Peninsula. A peninsula is similar to a cape—a point of land almost surrounded by water—but is generally more elongated.
