Aurora, Colorado, a city in Adams and Arapahoe counties, seven miles (11 km) east of downtown Denver. Aurora is largely a residential suburb with some light industries. The U.S. Army's Fitzsimons General Hospital is here. Aurora was first settled about 1890. It was incorporated as Fletcher in 1903 and changed its name to Aurora in 1907. The city has the council-manager form of government.
