Lima, Ohio, the seat of Allen County, in the northwestern part of the state. Lima lies on the Ottawa River and is surrounded by a rich agricultural area. Grain, livestock, and poultry are processed in the city. Electrical signs, automobile engines, cigars, machine tools, and steel products are among the many items manufactured here.

Lima was settled in 1831 and was incorporated in 1842. The city was an oil boomtown in the late 19th century, but production of oil has since stopped.
