Mesquite, Texas, a city in Dallas County. It is 10 miles (16 km) east of downtown Dallas. Mesquite is mainly residential but has some manufacturing. Products include telecommunications equipment, processed foods, and beverages. The Mesquite Championship Rodeo takes place at the Mesquite Arena every weekend during spring and summer. Mesquite was settled in 1872 and incorporated in 1882.
