Muncie, Indiana, the seat of Delaware County. It is on the West Fork of the White River in the east-central part of the state. Muncie is an industrial city and a trade center for a rich agricultural area. Automobile parts and glass containers are the chief manufactured products. Ball State University is here. Muncie was named after a Munsee Indian village that once occupied the site. Muncie was settled in the 1820's and incorporated as a city in 1865. It has the mayor-council form of government.
