North Miami, Florida, a city in Miami-Dade County. It is on Biscayne Bay, eight miles (13 km) north of downtown Miami. North Miami is mainly a residential suburb of Miami, but it does have some light manufacturing. It was incorporated in 1926 with the name Miami Shores, and was renamed in 1932.
