Stratford, Connecticut, a community in Fairfield County. It lies on Long Island Sound at the mouth of the Housatonic River, adjacent to Bridgeport. Stratford is primarily residential. For many years Stratford was the site of performances of Shakespeare's plays at a replica of the Globe Theatre. Judson House, built in 1723, is now a museum with 18th- and 19th-century furnishings.

Stratford was settled in 1639. It has the council-manager form of government.
