Geography of West Palm Beach
West Palm Beach, Florida, the seat of Palm Beach County. It is about 65 miles (105 km) north of Miami on Lake Worth, a lagoon opening on the Atlantic Ocean. Bridges lead across the lagoon to Palm Beach. A canal runs from here to Lake Okeechobee, 37 miles (60 km) to the west. West Palm Beach is a popular winter resort. It was incorporated in 1894.
