Wilson, North Carolina, the seat of Wilson County. It is about 40 miles (64 km) east of Raleigh. Situated in an agricultural region, Wilson is a leading market for bright leaf tobacco. It produces cotton textiles and food products, and processes tobacco. Barton College is here. Wilson was incorporated in 1849. It has a council-manager form of government.
