Oneida Lake, a lake in north-central New York, near Syracuse, Oneida, and Rome. It is about 20 miles (32 km) long and up to 5 miles (8 km) wide—the largest lake entirely within the state. Oneida Lake is part of the New York State Barge Canal system and is also used for recreation.
